The love of Blogging

I'm just going to say what I really feel as this is my 50th attempt to make this post, three glasses of wine later and the blurb is about to begin. I was shocked when my blogging feature made front cover of Brisbane News with the very talented Anna Spiro from Absolutely Beautiful Things. Six years ago after 17 years of marriage I was divorced with no income and very little confidence in myself and my ability, my self esteem was on an all time low and I knew I had to find a way to make an income to support my family. To cut a very long story short I opened Lily-g with no business plan, very little money but with a determination to succeed. For me it was never about the money it was to prove to myself I could do it, and in all honestly without my family and regular customers I probably would never have survived the late nights and long hours, the stress of money and trying to survive in tough economical times. The highs are dealing with the lovely people I meet every day,my staff and blogging friends,
working with beautiful products and days like today. Thank you Lucy xx

Lily, Congratulations! Your story is inspiring...I am married with two children and I resigned from my very successful job as an interior designer late 2008. I just wasn't happy. I needed to be creative and authentic. I decided that I wanted to blog, even though I had no idea how to do it. I'm doing it! It is hard work, but I love it! I also feel very determined and passionate about proving myself. Your post was very sincere and wish you continued success! All the best, Mimi xxx

Hi Lily,
Hope you enjoy every bit of the glory ... you've lived through every woman's fears ... and come out doing soooo amazingly good for yourself.
I am right now a stay at home mom ... who chucked her awsome Design career to go trotting all over ... with her husband ... and now the my lil' girl ... it's not bad ... but I know what you mean about self esteem and confidence ...
And having said all that ... in all that roar of applause around you... I too join in and have to say you are inspiring... really :)

Believe it or not I have finally created my very own blog! Main reason was so that I could comment on your posts - like this one for example...but i'm sure i will end up becoming as addicted to this blog as you are! Anyway i came into the agency today with the girls all oo-ing and ahh-ing your article. You look amazing and that was a very modest post for such an amazing achievement - your a star! Anyway i just wanted to put into words how inspirational you are and not only are you the best mum in-the-world but my icon : )

First time visit to your blog. Nothing better than a story of a woman overcoming adversity. It sends out a message "if she can do it, so can I" thus giving others the encouragement and inspiration they need to overcome whatever it is they face. Congratulations to you.
