What is a beautiful home without a garden? My obsession for timber homes has been with me always. I love the character, the way they can so easily adapt to change with just a simple coat of paint, by adding french doors or adding a guest house to compliment the character of the home. My point is that they can easily be renovated or updated without completely changing the look of your home. I think I'm rambling here but maybe the pictures speak for themselves.

Love them all. Timber homes are simply my favourite, nothing else compares!
that outdoor setting in pic 2 is divine.
I live in a timber house (only for another two weeks!) and while I have a certain affection for it, I will be glad to get into something that doesn't shift and move with the weather!
When I was living in Qld we had a beautiful old timber Queenslander - it had so much character & your post made me realise just how much I miss it. These are all beautiful homes that you've posted!
Never a truer word said Judy! MOTH had the brick cutter out on Sunday & everything in the front garden is now red, not green! That brick dust is insidious & yukky, right on girl, give me timber any day!
BTW I picked up the new issue of NZH&G yesterday & just about cried tears of joy in the Newsagent's. Kate Coughlan the old Editor is back after 7 years away & the mag is back on track - every page is a feast of light, bright 'gorgeousness'.
Millie ^_^
All so gorgeous! I wish my landscaping looked even half this good from any of the photos! Daisy~
