I noticed when I was in France last year European magazines featuring beautiful homes that used dark wall colours in shades of dark grey and rich warm chocolate tones. Contrasting with lots of white or oak timber finishes creating a unique and different look that had lot's of appeal.

These colours remind me of colonial India. Beautiful!
Personally I prefer a more brighter interior, but I do like the combination between chocolate brown walls and white details. My colleague uses these colours in her home and it looks beautiful. If you do it right it can result into a great stylish look.
What a beautiful look. I love dark walls in a dining room or a cozy media room. Great inspiration, Judy.

Very nice! Happy Weekend!
These are beautiful images, even though I prefer brighter tones I can see the beauty in these.
Have a lovely weekend!
What a great statement Judy - love the dark with the white, xv.
What goes better together than chocolate & vanilla!!!
Such luscious images one after another, gratitudes for the views.
I also love how crips the white becomes against the richer chocolate. Marvelous. A lovely Sunday to you.
Hello, it looks so crisp and clean, I actually love the wide timber floors.
I've found your previous posts interesting too, as I'm about to build a weatherboard house, wooden french doors/windows, veranda etc so all tips are helpful.
Thank you.
Oh I love this -- it's like Hollywood Glam married Rustic and had a beautiful baby. LOVE it.

Love the light and dark combination. Beautiful. Ax
I love it. When you first hear the words "dark walls" it may not seem too appealing, but these photos prove it can be done and work well.
Love these images Judy. Did you get my email about Wednesday night?

Such a stylish and glamourous look. Love this... Perhaps i need to buy a new home!!??
o yes I totally love that atmosphere... Me myself I have a dark grey wall for several years now and I never get bored with it!
Are we moving on from the all-white look? These rooms look cosy but still airy, not dark as you might think. I think the trick is to keep the colour palette simple - and add lots of white in the trims and furnishings.
Stunning combination...Love it!
This is my all-time favorite color combinations! So warm, clean, fresh, and classic.
I really really really really love these photos!
