Recipe of the week

Very embarrassing to admit but I'm not the greatest lover of cooking, hard to believe as I own every printed cook book, love watching the cooking channels on TV, have heaps of crockery and obsess about setting the table beautifully, but the actual art of cooking just never blessed me, so my New Years resolution is to help my partner Paul in the kitchen and to start having more dinner parties whether formal, casual what-ever! So my blogging friends forget the dieting (never works for me anyway) I'm posting yum food every week till Xmas. So my first recipe is Berry-Banana Ice-cream it goes like this...

2 cups of frozen raspberries
2 bananas, chopped and frozen
1 cup premium thick store-bought vanilla custard (love that ingredient)
fresh raspberries to serve
store bought biscuits, such as amaretti or shortbread, but I think home-made shortbread would be great to serve.

Method:
Place the raspberries, banana and custard in bowl of a food processor and process till smooth. serve immediately with fresh raspberries and biscuits.

As simple as that, surely I can't ruin that!!!!

I'm with you - diets don't work, they just make you miserable! I wouldn't mind tucking into this yummy looking dessert.

PS - Hope you got out of the storms unscathed.

Oh yum! what a fabulous idea Judy... yes send us some divine recipes each week. Don't feel too bad about the cooking side of things. I was a Dietitian in a previous life (about 10 kilos ago) - I can't cook to save my life... well I can cook to keep the kids alive.... but entertaining?... don't go there..... just call the caterers! mmmm....looks good. I also have tons of cookbooks, and don-t try them to often, but sometimes it's nice to just try something.
enjoy!

Right, there goes a dress size!!:)I love to cook. I agree that diets don't work. I don't even own a scale! I go with "If the waist of my pants is getting a bit tight...time to cut out the Tim Tams"
